I am looking forward to this year's festival and especially being able to work with those individuals or groups that have not previously played the main stage in the Community Hall where I look after the sound system.

For those who are new to playing the main stage, we run the schedule very tight. Set times are limited to 30 minutes, no encores. The scheduling provides only 15 minutes to get an act off the stage and the next act onto the stage and setup ready to start . . . and I do that all day long so your cooperation will be very much appreciated.

Both the MC and I will be watching the time as we progress through the day, it is important that we maintain the schedule to keep things rolling smoothly. Be ready and On Deck for your performance and when you have finished your set, be sure to remove all your gear from the stage immediately so that the next act can begin preparing for their performance. There is no time for chit-chat, we can use every second available to us, please clear the stage area as quickly as possible. Only on one occasion, before we began to enforce schedule times, we got badly behind schedule early in the day and never did get back on time. We refuse to let that happen again and WILL trim performance times if necessary no matter who or what has caused a delay. Please don't be offended if this happens to your performance, it's just a necessary part of maintaining the schedule. PLEASE BE AWARE that going over-time is NOT ACCEPTABLE and any act that begins to eat up my set-up time for the next act will simply be dropped out of the PA and over-ridden by canned music.

To All Electric Bass players and Guitarists who will want to Plug-In, if you wish to use a DI (direct input box) bring one along, I have a few of my own but your DI box might be a better unit. You may want to consider bringing your own amp to use as a monitor. We can provide you with sound through the stage monitors but some players prefer to use their own amps. This is acceptable but please be aware that we will ask you to reduce your amp level if it is over-riding the overall house mix. Also please be sure to bring any patch cords, extensions, power bars etc that you think you might need. We can usually accommodate with our own cables but we don't have an unlimited supply.

With regards to Recording . . . we are no longer recording performances at the festival and will not allow any request for a signal feed off the mix board. You can thank SOCAN for that.

Our MC for the community hall this year is, once again, Dwight Blix. Dwight has MC'd for many years and we thank him in advance. Dwight will be introducing each act using the bio provided within the printed program. Should your act bio change from what appears in the program, please be sure to provide a printed copy for Dwight to use for your introduction. Dwight sponsors the festival through the donation of his time so if you are looking for a realtor at any time please be sure to consider Dwight. You can call Dwight at 403-256-1300 or visit his website.

That's all I have for now, looking forward to working with you at the festival . . . see you there!
